Humanity in Action Fellowship Program
Humanity in Action Fellowship brings together international groups of college students and recent graduates to explore national histories of discrimination and resistance—including the political foundations of racial hierarchies, Antisemitism, Islamophobia and colonial domination—as they affect different minority groups today. One-year fellowship program begins with an intensive, four-week educational program located in cities across Europe and the United States. The goal of these programs is to foster cross-cultural understanding and appreciation of different perspectives and approaches for assessing past and contemporary social justice issues. After the four-week on-site education programs, fellows return home to develop and implement Action Projects to address social justice issues in their communities. The cohort experience continues virtually over the next eleven months.
Award
Four weeks in another city with educational cohort; ongoing support for Action Project in home community. Humanity in Action covers the cost of participation and accommodation during the fellowship programs; however, Fellows are responsible for financing the cost of round-trip airfare to their program city. Humanity in Action will cover this cost for Fellows with documented need.
Eligibility
Sophomore, Junior, Senior
All citizenships eligible to apply. Students must be enrolled undergraduates or recent grads. Applicants should be passionate activists who are interested social justice and human and minority rights. University endorsement is not required. A $20 application fee is required; waived for financial need. Open application; students are welcome to consult with our office.
