Strong Letters of Recommendation: Whom to Ask, How to Ask, When to Ask

Dean Brooke Taylor (Fellowships Advisor) in conversation with Prof. Megan Daschbach (Chemistry) and Prof. Zachary Bowersox (Political Science)

Presented by the College of Arts & Sciences Post Graduate Advising Team
Asking for letters of recommendation doesn't have to be awkward! Letters really matter when you're applying for a scholarship, internship, job, or graduate program, so you should be prepared when you make this request. Come to this presentation to get practical advice from faculty who write a lot of letters on how to phrase your request, what to do if your letter writer says no, and how to make it more likely that they say yes. This advice will apply to med school, law school, grad school, internships, research opportunities & anything else that requires a letter of recommendation.
